jewellery from another Culture.

Jewellery from another culture.

A piece of Jewellery that i found is from the country of Africa.
Africans love their Arts and Crafts including Jewellery. In the African Culture jewellery is made for personal appearance and personal accessory's. Their type of Jewellery come from people that want to carry on their identity, so to be recognised, they use materials around them. They also make masks with detailed designs that has a particular theme to it. This is all very important to the African Culture.

Jewellery that has been made, has been hand made by the African community, in the necklace's they wear, the materials that are in them use are all natural resources.
They use materials like Ivory, carved stone, bone, sea shells, animal teeth, animal hair, egg shells, wood, amber and glass. Africans use this type of Material because its organic, natural and they have easy access to them. They also use beads to make necklaces or jewellery, or they use beads in exchange for goods, in other words, beads was the african currency.

I learnt that the type of Jewellery they make is a mark/sign to where they come from and what their family status is. I also learnt that the materials they use are organic materials that can be found within their region and are all handmade jewellery.
