NZ Jewellery Artist

Joe Sheehan.

Joe Sheehan is a New Zealand born jewellery artist that studied at Unitec.
He works around the materials of Nephrite jade, silver and Corian.

The way i recognised this as a NZ origin is because of the greenstone or the Jade. Maori's use this type of jade to make their Ponamu or a distinctive piece of Jewellery.

I think the way he has made this is, he must have cut the outside to make his shapes and sand the jade to make it smooth.
The piece of work that i enjoy is that bunch of Keys he made. I found that interesting because i imagined that, what if there were car keys like that, instead of silver metal keys.
